Blocks up to 86% of the sun’s ultraviolet rays. - SunDefense™ Low-E Insulating Double-Pane Glass with Argon
Features insulating glass with a SunDefense Low-E coating that has three layers of thermal protection to keep your home cooler in the summer. Argon is inserted in the space between the insulating glass to make your home even more energy efficient. Blocks up to 95% of the sun’s ultraviolet rays.
Other Energy-Efficient Options
- NaturalSun Low-E Insulating Double-Pane Glass with Argon
Features insulating glass with a Low-E coating of thermal protection that offers excellent insulation from the cold, while allowing more of the sun’s heat to flow in. Argon is inserted in the space between the insulating glass to make your home even more energy efficient. - HurricaneShield® Impact Resistant windows
An advanced polymer layer lies between two layers of glass, offering strong protection from flying debris, while increasing the safety, security, ultraviolet protection and energy efficiency of your home. - Laminated Insulating Glass
A layer of polymer between two layers of glass that cuts outside noise and harmful UV rays and offers added protection against intruders and forced entry. The interlayer holds the glass together if it’s shattered. - Obscure Insulating Glass
This glass obscures the view for more privacy, while letting the light shine through. Available in a variety of textured surfaces. - Tinted Insulating Glass
Like sunglasses, windows with tinted glass help block the sun’s rays to help control glare; plus, they keep rooms that get direct sun cooler. The tint also helps block the view into your home. Available in Gray, Bronze and Green insulating glass. - Tempered Insulating Glass
This glass will usually shatter into small fragments instead of sharp shards when broken.
US Energy Efficiency

Pella’s InsulShield® energy performance glass offers low U-Factors to reduce the amount of heat that flows out of the home and low Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) ratings to help block the sun’s radiant heat.
